About Us

Who We Are

Welcome to Cinco Ranch Psychiatry. I am Dr. Nicole Stahl and for the past 12 years, I have been pleased to offer psychiatric services to children, adolescents, and adults in the greater Houston area and throughout Texas.

About 5 years ago, I began to explore incorporating new treatment modalities into my practice. Instead of having medication as my only tool in my toolbelt, I began to study integrative interventions to address my patient’s mental health challenges as not all my patients wanted to be on medication. Many wanted to try and get off their medication or at least scale back on the amount of medication they were taking, but previous attempts were unsuccessful. Many of the parents I talked to wanted non-medication options to treat their children’s mental health struggles.

This is where my journey began and wow, did I start seeing the difference in treatment outcomes! I began seeing lives truly changed. We weren’t just masking symptoms anymore. I began seeing patients decrease their medication and some even get off all together.

I specialize in treating a variety of psychiatric issues. My philosophy is to utilize a more holistic, comprehensive and conservative approach to meet the needs of each patient and I am committed to helping my patients achieve their best possible outcomes.

Often, this means digging a bit deeper to look for root cause(s) for the symptoms patients have been experiencing. This involves spending quality time with my patients during their sessions and getting to know them and their families in order to best be able to understand the nature of the problems they have been experiencing. I believe core aspects of health including sufficient sleep, well balanced nutrition and regular exercise are very important in maintaining health, including good mental health. I am committed to providing the best medical care possible to my patients.

Integrative health is a better approach to treating mental health because it takes into account the whole person and their lifestyle factors. By looking for root causes and spending quality time with my patients, I am able to provide a more comprehensive and conservative approach that meets the unique needs of each patient.

If you are looking for a more holistic approach to treating mental health issues, Cinco Ranch Psychiatry may be the right fit for you.

What makes us different?

Our Philosophy

Have you spent years dealing with Anxiety, Depression, brain fog or just feeling overwhelmed and stressed? Are you ready to take back your life and take the next steps to optimize your mental health and wellness? We help you dig deeper to uncover the root causes of the symptoms that are holding you back and get you on the road to living your best life! If you are exhausted from dealing with the same mental health challenges day after day and are ready to make a change, then let’s get started! We are here to guide you each step of the way.

Our Process

During a standard 15-minute appointment with a psychiatrist, it is often challenging to gain a comprehensive understanding of the underlying factors and depth of your illness. We start first with a comprehensive mental health and health assessment. This allows us to gain an understanding of the complexity of your challenges and where we need to focus our attention. Then, in our comprehensive one-and-a-half-hour intake consultation, we dedicate sufficient time to thoroughly review your condition and explore all potential triggers that may have contributed to it. This review encompasses your medical and psychiatric history, as well as your diet, environment, toxins, exercise, sleep patterns, and stressors. By conducting this in-depth assessment, we can begin to unravel the root causes of your illness and chart a path towards recovery. Your clinical history, while revealing very important information, does not give us the complete picture, so we use strategically chosen lab work to help get to what your underlying deficiencies and imbalances are.

Personalized Care

No two people are the same. Each person’s body is biologically unique so a one size treatment protocol does not meet your needs. There are many potential factors contributing to the symptoms that are leading you to seek help. We explore everything from trauma, lifestyle factors, nutritional deficiencies, gut health, food sensitivities, and other imbalances that may be causing or exacerbating your symptoms. Our care team will provide you with guided, step-by-step support as you implement an integrative approach to your mental wellness. This approach draws upon the latest advancements in integrative psychiatry, nutritional science, and lifestyle medicine to help you improve your mental health and reduce your symptoms significantly. With our expert guidance, you can embark on a journey towards healing and enjoy a vibrant life.
The limitations of conventional medicine are becoming increasingly evident, particularly when it comes to mental health treatment. Many individuals find that the traditional “one-size-fits-all” approach does not meet their unique needs. Integrative medicine recognizes that every person’s body is biologically unique, with different factors contributing to their symptoms. This approach explores everything from lifestyle factors to gut health, nutritional deficiencies, and trauma. By identifying and addressing these underlying imbalances, integrative medicine can provide patients with the support they need to achieve significant symptom reduction and improve their mental health.
In addition to a personalized treatment approach, integrative medicine puts the patient at the center of the treatment process. Practitioners take the time to get to know their patients and their unique circumstances, which fosters a strong patient-practitioner relationship. This approach is essential to achieving optimal health outcomes and creating a satisfying healthcare experience. By providing guided, step-by-step support, integrative medicine empowers patients to take control of their mental wellness and embark on a journey towards healing, leading to a vibrant life.
